Birth Anniversary of the founder of Arya Samaj : Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati 

Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Jayanti 2022 in India is going to be celebrated on Saturday, 26 February 2022.

The great Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati , was the founder of Arya Samaj and born in the year 1824. He was an Indian philosopher and also a social activist.

He always supported the reforms in the society for gender equality especially against the inequality faced by the women of that era and discrimination based on caste. 

His birth anniversary is celebrated as Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati  Jayanti in order to remember his contribution for the social reforms.

About Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati:

As per the Hindu Panchang maharishi was born on “dashmi tithi “ of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Phalgun. The ‘dashmi’ her denotes the tenth day of Krishna Paksha.

Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati  wanted to revive the Vedic knowledge among society and contributed a lot . He always asked the youth to follow the Vedic rituals not the ideologies given by the British.

He was entitled with the name “Maker of Modern India “ by S. Radhakrishnan and Sri Aurobindo.

Maharishi had been inspiration for our various renowned freedom fighters like Shaheed Bhagt Singh,the “Punjab Kesari” Shree  Lala Lajpat Rai,  Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaq Ullah Khan,and many more.

He openly fought for the rights of women in the society how they were opposed to live with equality in society  with the men .He took Sanyas in his childhood and dedicated his life the benefit of the society.

He was born into a Hindu Brahmin family and named as Mool Shankar Tiwari but he adopted the path of Sanyasi and became Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati .

The name Mool Shankar Tiwari was given to him as per the Vedic astrology as his zodiac was Sagittarius and took birth in the Mool Nakshatra.

He founded Arya Samaj in year 1875 with the slogan “Krinvanto Vishwam Aryam” mean to “Create a Noble World”.

He has been author of many books and some of his books are Yajur Veda Bhashyam ,Rig Veda Bhashyam, Sanskar Vidhi, Satyarth Prakash.
