BJP NEC Meeting 2021: Appraisal for Economic Developments by PM Modi
Every political party has several under bodies, for making its working smooth and success. Similarly National Executive Committee (NEC) is one of the groups under Bharatiya Janata Party. NEC is considered as the most important body of the party. They have a vital role in choosing Chief Ministers, Presidents of the party in State level, and as well as other heads of the party.
NEC had held a virtual meeting on 7th November 2021 in New Delhi. It was the first meeting of the committee after Lok Sabha elections of 2021, and also after the outburst of the Covid pandemic. This meeting also marks the first usage of virtual platform by the party to conduct NEC meeting.
In this meeting the leaders of BJP gave appreciation to the PM Narendra Modi for the dedicated hard work he has made for the country, during the pandemic time. The committee opined that PM worked to restore the economy of India, which was collapsing in the recent decades. They said that PM has the capability to take decisions quickly and correctly. This decision making has made many drastic changes in the country, including the progress in economy. The Union Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan said that, India’s economic progress under Modi Government can be seen in areas like increase in GST, progress of Rail transport and as well as in the growth in business fields.
NEC also said that the Government also promoted the scientists and medical workers, throughout the pandemic time from January 2020. The vaccination of about 30% population of India, with both doses is a golden feather on the head of the Government. They also appraised the PM for providing food for over 8 million people from the time of starting of the pandemic for every month, through public distribution systems.
The meeting also admired the forward planning of the PM in the Citizenship Amendment Act, and as well as in cancelling the special status for Jammu & Kashmir in Article 370. The committee opined that through CAA, the government took necessary measures for securing the minorities who were oppressed in countries nearby to India, including Afghanistan. They also suggested for sensitive approach towards Sikhs and farmers’ protest from the side of the government. The committee put forward the thought that these protests may create a huge change in the upcoming elections in states like Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. Union Minister Pradhan said that the government, from the beginning itself is being gentle and supportive to farmers and Sikhs. He further stated that Modi government has considered agriculture with more importance in previous budgets. And also he said that the government has made many economical aids for Sikh communities including the grants given for Gurudwara.
