Should we blame only politicians for corruption?

Should we blame only politicians for corruption?

“POWER DOESN’T CORRUPT PEOPLE, PEOPLE CORRUPT POWER”

With power comes responsibilities towards the nation when we are serving for it. We should be fully truthful and loyal to our nation and the citizens of the country but is the scenario same or these are just mere spoken words? We often see country people criticizing the government the corrupt politicians but are we really looking onto both sides of the story? When we talk about the corrupt government and the politicians why don’t we talk about the government employees working under them? Why don’t we question the authorities that are employed for us? Why only the government has to be blamed every time in every situation?

These are some questions that goes on in our minds but because of the mere words that they are serving for the nation they are being portraited as the guardians (which is true) but can’t be the guardians sometimes turn into the termites which are eating the economy slowly?

The most corrupt authorities in people’s minds according to a survey are the “traffic police, local authorities, healthcare, education and police”. But why is it so when they are assigned to serve the nation. It’s because the money has the power and 62% of Indian citizens find it easy to bribe and get their work done instead of going through the legal procedure. It’s not the government who is solely responsible for the corruption as they aren’t asking us to bribe and give away money to purchase some land or get the illegal wok done under table. They have done their part by making all the rules and regulation and how the proceedings should be done properly but it is the lower authorities who are doing making their work easy and making the people aware about the most relaxing way of getting rid of their work. They are the ones who took the pledge to serve the nation but are they really doing the part for which they took their oath for.

Before pointing towards the corrupt politicians for eating away our money why should we not look at the stats that the government provide and the amount of money distributed amongst every state but where does that money actually go? If we are responsible for giving bribes to get our work done so is the corrupt government officials who do accept it and even ask for it to. They are the ones who demand the handsome amount in order to get the work done and if someone denies they make sure the work is delayed and they lay pressure on the person to bribe.

To understand better, the best example is Nirav Modi being investigated for $2 billion fraud case of Punjab National Bank. Even authorities were aware of the allegation’s that were one the businessman and still gave him loan of such a big amount. Before suing him the upper authorities of the bank should also be investigated.

Other example could be, the lower and upper authorities being in a situation of conflict. Let’s understand this by taking the example of PM relief fund which was generated for the pandemic situation going right now. The fund was provided to the upper authorities of every district and then when the fund was reached to the medical officer half of it was already taken away by the district magistrate In return of which the medical officer filled complain (as he couldn’t take the enough from that) and was transferred to the other office.

When the authorities itself are having the conflict on who will take more than how can be blame the government not providing us with the enough? Before heading to the conclusion that the politicians are only people corrupted why don’t we look at the other ends to the story and yes when the roots are weak how do we expect the tree to stand strong!

Soo in a nutshell, let’s leave playing the “blame game” and start the changes for the very root level so that the nation could stand forth and strong.
