Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Campaign
1 in every 2 children is sexually abused in our country and every 15 min, a child is sexually abused. To make the situation worse, only 1 percent of cases are reported and 99 percent remain under the carpet. Child Sexual Abuse (CSA)’ is a pressing human rights issue and public health concern in our country and yet, we are unaware of it.
Bachpan Save The Innocence (BSTI) is a public trust initiated by Rahul Singla in January 2020 with a vision to empower everyone on child sexual abuse prevention through sustainable solutions.
Our aim is to spread awareness and empower everyone to stand their voice against child sexual abuse with the power of ‘education’ and ‘empowerment’. We believe that if children are imparted proper education on personal body safety, they will be more alert and careful. However, children are not the only stakeholders we have, we also educate a large domain of adults as well, by organizing parenting and child rights advocacy workshops. Our mission not only focuses on the fact of children getting victimized but also aims to prevent them from victimizing others.
We have Developed 14 different sensitization programs for different stakeholders. Each sensitization program aimed at children is at least a 4-6 hr duration program conducted on multiple days. To date, we have sensitized more than 12000 stakeholders through 250+workshops.
Our Accomplishments:
- We have been featured in The Logical Indian (Digital Media Platform).
- We have also been featured in newspapers like Amar Ujala, Dainik Jagran, News18, and other local newspapers.
- We have around 25 Letters of Recommendation (LORs) from different institutions.
How can you support us?
- We aim to provide personal body safety education to empower children for child sexual abuse prevention. It costs us Rs 75/child to provide personal safety education and sensitize children and other stakeholders responsible for children’s wellbeing and safety.
- We aim to provide mental health help for survivors of child sexual abuse. It costs us Rs 500-1000/ single counseling session to bring them closer to their healing process. Generally, it takes more than a single counseling session, but there is no definite count.
