Collaboration of government and NGOs
Collaboration of government and NGOs
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are concerned with all aspects of human rights, including the provision of fundamental rights, social and environmental causes, and much more.
The operation of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) is critical to the socioeconomic development of our country. The non-profit organization assists people dealing with any socioeconomic problem; they assist in conflict resolution and foster an atmosphere of trust and confidence. They contribute to women’s empowerment and promote long-term development.

Why should Government support NGOs?
The government should support NGOs because the government can use its capacities to collaborate with the public sector to provide services to a diverse group of societies when the government is unable to meet those needs due to technical or administrative incompetence.
The government can also leverage NGOs’ extensive knowledge of people in various sectors, making it easier for the government to get to know their constituents and assist them.
Government collaborations with NGOs
To assess and speed up the financial processing of NGOs in India, the government established the NGO Darpan online portal, which went live on January 1, 2015.
The platform enables critical information to be exchanged between government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and volunteer organizations. NGOs can obtain vital information about government funds and programs by registering on the NGO DARPAN website.
NGO Darpan now has 1,58,401 registered NGOs. It’s a simple portal with only a few steps to get started. In turn, the NGOs receive critical information about schemes and grants.
