Open Forum on Efficacy of the Parliamentary system of Government-is it time for a relook?
A Panel Discussion on the topic ‘ Efficacy of the parliamentary system of governance –- is it time for a relook’ was organised at Constitutional Club of India, New Delhi Date on 04th May 2012 by us.
The objective of this event was to spark a dialogue around India’s governance systems and whether or not they are keeping pace with rapidly changing times. By bringing together people from within the government, politicians and enlightened citizens, this platform enabled us to identify some key actions that all of us need to take in order to achieve the shared purpose of truly maximizing the potential of the world’s largest democracy.
The panelists were Mr. Rajiv Pratap Singh Rudy, Member of Parliament and Spokesperson, BJP; Mr. ShashiTharoor, Member of Parliament and former Under-Secretary General, United Nations and Mr. Manish Tewari, Member of Parliament and Spokesperson, Congress. The session was moderated by Mr. ChandanMitra, Editor and Managing Director of The Pioneer.
Over 200 people were present for this discussion cutting acros the stratas of the society.
