RUSSIA-UKRAINE WAR UPDATE
Ever since the Russia-Ukraine crisis came into the picture, various delegations have made decisions about the same. In India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to chair a high-level meeting on the same agenda. This information came from government sources.
Government sources stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be sending four Union ministers to some of the neighboring countries of Ukraine. This is done keeping in mind the evacuation process of stranded Indians amidst all Russian military operations in Ukraine.
The ministers who are chosen to fly are Hardeep Singh Puri, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiren Rijiju and Gen VK Singh.
The prime minister hosted a two-hour long meeting with the Foreign Minister, Foreign Secretary and the Cabinet Secretary, along with other bureaucrats on Ukraine crisis agenda. Modi confirmed that all Indian students will be bought back home safely and ensured that evacuating them is the nation’s top priority, today.
The committee earlier had a discussion on 24 February, in New Delhi where the Union Home Minister, Defence Minister, External Affairs Minister, Finance Minister, Commerce & Industry Minister, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas of India and many other from the cabinet were present in the meeting.
Operation Ganga has been organized to bring back stranded Indians from Ukraine. Under this operation, special and chartered flights are being operated by Air India. Most recently, the fifth flight carrying nearly 250 Indians arrived in Delhi on 28 February.
